Carnatic Symphony

    The 38th annual Tyagaraja aradhana organised by the Cleveland Thyagaraja Committee begins on April 1, 2015.

    Spread over 12 days, the fest features over 200 eminent artists in over 85 concerts.

    This apart, Carnatic Symphony, the music programme that fuses Western Classical music orchestra with Carnatic music, will be presented on April 5, 8 a.m., at the Cleveland Tyagaraja aradhana.

    Children of various nationalities and musical backgrounds will perform.

    The concert line-up comprises short Utsava Sampradaya kritis of Tyagaraja, varnams and other popular pieces presented through voice and instruments.

    Sri Thyaga Brahma Gana Sabha will conduct Tyagaraja aradhana from Feb. 13 to 18, at Vani Mahal, T. Nagar.

    The event has been organised under the endowment of P. Obul Reddy and P. Gnanambal Trust. Eminent musicians will render the Pancharatna kritis of the Saint on Feb. 15, 10 a.m.

    As part of the aradhana, the sabha will honour veteran musician P.S. Narayanaswamy, with the ‘Thyaga Brahma Nadha Vibhushan,’ award and a purse of Rs. 1.50 lakhs, on Feb. 13, 6 p.m. Vidhushi R. Vedavalli will offer felicitations.

    Bharat Kalachar has organised a series of concerts as part of Tyagaraja aradhana, to be held on February 15, at Sri YGP Auditorium, 17, Tirumalai Road, T. Nagar.

    The day-long event includes rendition of Pancharatna kritis of the saint by eminents musicians at 9.30 a.m.; Pooja Shree Rajagopalan will render some of the Tyagaraja kritis at 5 p.m. followed by Srekala Bharat’s thematic presentation, ‘Sri Tyagaraja Vaibhavam,’ at 6.30 p.m.
